2021 – 2022 Concert Season

This Matinée Musicale Members Meeting was held at St. Paul Community United Methodist Church. We enjoyed performances by Marjorie Fryxell, piano, followed by Talia Zoll, mezzo-soprano, and her accompanist Toni Sheffer. Then the Southbank Quartet performed the String Quartet No. 3 in D Major op. 18, no.3, by Beethoven. The Southbank Quartet is composed of members Evan Harley, 1st violin, Haley Rudolph, 2nd violin, Rebecca Flank, viola, and Ellen Stephens, cello.
Isaac Selya gave an update on how MyCincinnati in Price Hill has benefitted from receiving our grant this year. Kathy Adams talked about our new "Student Connection" initiative, and Nancy Bailey updated us about our upcoming Scholarship Competition.
Afterwards, we adjourned to the social hall to enjoy a delicious box lunch!

Judy Martin, Matinée Musicale Administrative Director, welcomed everyone.
Marjorie Fryxell, piano, performed two movements of the Sonata No. 30 in D Major by Joseph Haydn.
Talia Zoll, mezzo-soprano, accompanied by pianist Toni Sheffer, sang 3 songs: "AhMichele Don't You Know" by Gian Carlo Metotti, "I am in Need of Music" by Ben Moore, and "Manners at a Concert" by Dominick Argento.
Ellen Stephens, cello, of the Southbank Quartet, talked about String Quartet in D Major, Opus 18, No. 3, by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Isaac Selya, representing MyCincinnati, spoke about how the organization used their grant from Matinée Musicale.
Kathy Adams spoke about the launch of Matinée Musicale's new "Student Connection" initiative.
