Matinée Musicale hosted its annual Greenacres Celebration for members and recital subscribers on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Jane Copper-Short, Matinée Musicale Board member and Scholarships Chair, welcomed everyone and spoke about the Nancy F. Walker Memorial Scholarship Competition, which was initiated in memory of our long-time president Nancy F. Walker in 2018. A total of $54,500 in scholarships were awarded this year.

Meredith Leslie, the new President of the Greenacres Foundation, talked about all the wonderful work the Foundation accomplishes. Judy Martin, MMC Administrative Director, introduced the upcoming Matinée Musicale upcoming 2026-2027 Recital season.

All eight First and Second Place Scholarship winners performed. Jane and Judy presented the awards to each winner, and they talked about their summer and fall plans and how much this scholarship means to them. Afterwards, we were treated to a delicious lunch in the lower level of Greenacres.
