Matinée Musicale Cincinnati Awarded $55,000 in Grants
In 2023, Matinée Musicale Cincinnati granted a total of $55,000 to 16 applicants who requested funding. They received grants in support of their outreach programs that promote music and music education. Click here to see some of our Past Grant Recipients.
Grants given by Matinée Musicale Cincinnati are made possible due to a generous bequest from the Louise Dieterle Nippert Estate. The Matinée Musicale Endowment Fund offers financial assistance annually to a select number of 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofits in support of programs promoting music and music education. Applications for grants in 2024 should be submitted by May 15, 2024 using the Ohio Common Grant short form.pdf or the Ohio Common Grant short form.doc. Grants are awarded no later than July 31, 2024.
In order to qualify for a grant, applicants must have a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status and be within the Greater Cincinnati counties of Hamilton, Butler, Warren, Clermont (Ohio), Dearborn (Indiana), Kenton, Campbell, or Boone (Kentucky). Click here for more info on How TO APPLY FOR GRANTS.
In addition to its annual Grants program, Matinée Musicale Cincinnati is active in these areas:
- Presents both up-and-coming and established artists from around the world in its renowned Recital Series, now in its 110th season. Artists such as violinist Joshua Bell and soprano Nadine Sierra performed in this Series before achieving acclaim in the classical music world.
- Holds the annual Nancy F. Walker Scholarship Competition for high school and college music students. In 2023, over $51,000 in scholarships was awarded, making it one of the largest scholarship programs of its kind in Cincinnati.
- Hosts an annual Student Recital, providing live performance opportunity, encouragement and support for young talent.
Matinée Musicale Cincinnati welcomes instrumentalists, singers, music educators and those who appreciate fine music- both adults and students - into its membership.
